Attempt
The learner is expected to begin, even when the work is unfamiliar or difficult.

These Terms and Conditions establish the basis of the learning relationship: what Internet Learning Solutions provides, what learners and responsible adults undertake, and how XVC accounts, subscriptions, resources and participation-based programmes are governed.
Read this first
XVC may not suit every learner or family. It is intended for people who understand that buying access does not transfer responsibility for learning to a website, tutor, teacher or artificial-intelligence system.
A learner does not need to begin as a top achiever. Struggling is allowed. Repeated attempts are allowed. Asking for help is encouraged. What is required is meaningful participation, honest effort and a willingness to continue.
Parents and guardians should proceed only if they are prepared to provide appropriate oversight and to judge the programme fairly in the light of the learner’s actual participation.
The educational standard
The learner is expected to begin, even when the work is unfamiliar or difficult.
Mistakes are part of learning. They must be examined, corrected and used to guide the next step.
Progress may require repeated attempts, practice, support and productive struggle.
Learning is demonstrated through understanding, application, explanation and creation—not merely access to an answer.
Do more than average
“Do more than average to be more than average” is not a judgement about intelligence, talent, background or present achievement. It expresses a principle of growth: people often distinguish themselves by doing more than the ordinary minimum through consistency, correction, persistence and ownership.
Natural ability may help, but sustained work often becomes the greater advantage. In an AI-supported world, widely available information is less likely to be the true differentiator. The scarce ability is to question, verify, understand, apply and create from that information.
XVC is designed especially for learners and families who recognise that merely floating through school may become increasingly disadvantageous, and who are prepared to develop the habits that make knowledge useful.
Friction Before Access
Real learning normally involves effort, repetition, correction, uncertainty and productive struggle. XVC brings these ideas together in the principle of Friction Before Access.
FBA is not artificial difficulty for its own sake. It is the requirement that the learner engage with the work before relying on the convenience, support or benefits that follow from it.
In a formal FBA Earned Membership, continued access, reduced pricing or included benefits may depend on stated weekly participation and mastery requirements. Pedagogical Engineers and other participants in the XVC environment may also be required to uphold this standard where it applies to their Channels, programmes or learner relationships.
The distinction that matters
May make mistakes, need many attempts, ask for help, work slowly and require repeated explanation. This learner is participating in the process as intended.
May avoid the work, copy answers, repeatedly ignore remediation, miss stated requirements without engagement or create a false appearance of effort.
Support is not withdrawn because a learner finds the work difficult. Participation-based access may be suspended, reduced, withdrawn or not renewed where the agreed participation standard is not met.
What XVC undertakes
Depending on the chosen service, XVC may provide diagnostic assessments, reports, guided remediation, practice, videos, SOTS routes, AI-supported guidance, PE Channels, XVC Club access and Human Tutor Fallback where included.
Internet Learning Solutions aims to administer accounts, access, reports, payments, support and resources accurately and fairly.
Errors, omissions or technical defects may occur. Where a genuine problem is reported, XVC may investigate, correct, replace, clarify or otherwise address it as reasonably appropriate.
XVC supports learning but does not guarantee marks, promotion, admission, qualification or mastery. Results depend on many factors, including participation, prior knowledge, practice, school context and oversight.
Shared responsibility
Learners must attempt work honestly, use feedback, follow required remediation, practise where necessary, avoid copying and take increasing ownership of the result.
Where the learner is a minor, the responsible adult should provide age-appropriate oversight, read reports where supplied, respond to concerns and help maintain a suitable learning routine.
AI and other support tools may be used only where permitted. A learner may not use them to create a false impression of personal understanding, effort or authorship.
Learners remain responsible for complying with the rules of their school, college, university or examining body regarding AI, collaboration, calculators, memorandums and submitted work.
Fairly judging the programme
Membership of a gym does not produce fitness without training. In the same way, access to diagnostic assessments, reports, videos, practice, remediation, AI-supported guidance or human support does not produce mastery unless the learner participates.
XVC does not claim to be faultless. Learners and parents may report errors, question methods, dispute conclusions and offer honest criticism.
However, a service cannot fairly be described as "ineffective" while material non-participation, incomplete work, ignored remediation, unused support, inaccurate account sharing or absent parent oversight is disregarded.
Where educational effectiveness is disputed, Internet Learning Solutions may consider available participation records, completed work, assessment attempts, reports, communications and support offered before reaching a conclusion.
FBA Earned Membership
The formal FBA arrangement is a participation-based and mastery-focused programme. Its reduced fee is offered because the learner and family accept a higher level of accountability.
Programme rules may include weekly activities, deadlines, retries, remediation, reassessment, reporting and other accountability requirements disclosed for that programme.
If the learner does not meet those requirements, FBA access may be suspended, withdrawn or not renewed when the relevant reports are processed. This is not a judgement of the learner’s ability and is not punishment for struggling. It protects the integrity of a programme whose educational and financial model depends on active participation.
Where a non-FBA service is chosen at a higher price, the formal suspension mechanism may not apply in the same way. The educational need for effort, practice, parent oversight and learner responsibility nevertheless remains.
Accounts and household use
Users should provide reasonably accurate account, learner and contact information and must not impersonate another person.
A parent may permit siblings to share a Club membership where the family accepts that activity records, recommendations and reports may no longer be learner-specific.
Shared use does not automatically entitle each learner to separate enrolments, separate reports, separate Human Tutor Fallback, separate video access or duplicated personalised administration. Where the work required is materially increased, separate learner memberships may be required or duplicated service may be limited.
Account holders remain responsible for protecting login details and for activity conducted through the account. Credentials should not be disclosed outside the authorised household.
AI Tutor credits
Credits loaded onto an account, whether purchased separately or included through a subscription arrangement, will not deliberately be deleted merely because a subscription ends or changes.
Credits remain allocated to the account on which they were loaded. Internet Learning Solutions does not provide a credit-transfer, consolidation or reassignment service between accounts.
Continued availability is subject to the Over-the-Shoulder AI Tutor remaining operational, technically viable and able to honour those credits.
Payments and subscriptions
Payments may be processed through PayFast or another stated provider. XVC does not directly store payment-card details.
Where recurring billing applies, the frequency and amount are shown before payment. Billing continues until cancellation takes effect in accordance with the applicable cancellation process.
An existing member who remains continuously subscribed to the same package will not be moved to a higher price merely because the public price later increases.
A retained price may be lost if the membership is cancelled, lapses through non-payment or is terminated. Rejoining later may occur at the price then available.
Suspension or restriction of access does not automatically cancel amounts already due, an applicable notice period or another payment obligation arising before cancellation becomes effective.
Resources and distribution
Resources expressly identified as free may be copied, printed, forwarded and distributed widely for educational or promotional use. Teachers and Pedagogical Engineers are encouraged to share them.
Free distribution does not mean surrender of authorship or ownership. The XVC name, Pedagogical Engineer acknowledgement and other authorship or source information must remain intact.
A person may not falsely claim authorship, remove or obscure required attribution, deceptively rebrand a resource, sell it as their own work, or alter it in a way that misrepresents its source or educational purpose.
Unless written permission has been given, a person may not reverse engineer, decompile, extract or systematically reproduce the underlying code, templates, question banks, answer logic, prompts, validation methods or other protected components for use in another product, service or competing resource.
Resources identified as paid, restricted, Channel-only or subject to a separate licence may carry additional conditions. Resources may be added, corrected, replaced or removed at XVC’s discretion.
Honest criticism and reputation
XVC welcomes respectful disagreement, correction of errors, honest complaints and evidence-based criticism.
Users may not knowingly or recklessly misrepresent participation records, omit material facts in order to create a false impression, fabricate evidence, impersonate another person, threaten reputational harm to obtain an improper concession, or publish statements they know to be materially false.
A learner or parent should not represent that a programme, Pedagogical Engineer or support service has failed while disregarding material non-participation, incomplete work, ignored remediation, unused support or absent oversight.
Acceptable use
Users may not use XVC for unlawful activity, harassment, threats, impersonation, deepfakes, sexualised or exploitative material, malware, scraping, access circumvention or interference with systems.
Users may not extract protected question banks, prompts, code, reporting structures or other components for unauthorised competing use.
Communication involving minors must remain educational, respectful and transparent. Secret, coercive or inappropriate contact is prohibited.
Access may be restricted, suspended or terminated where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated breach, safeguarding concerns, fraud, impersonation, non-payment, abuse of resources, security risk or unlawful conduct.
External services and availability
XVC may use or link to Moodle, PayFast, WhatsApp, YouTube, Google services, AI providers and other external platforms. Their own terms, privacy arrangements, availability and technical behaviour may also apply.
Internet connections, devices, hosting, maintenance, provider changes and external failures may interrupt access. XVC may correct, replace, update or discontinue features and resources where reasonably necessary.
Changes, cancellation and lawful rights
These terms may be updated when services, providers, pricing, subscriptions, Channels, resources or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the review date on this page.
Future prices may change, but existing members who remain continuously subscribed to the same package retain their current price. New or materially different packages may carry different pricing and benefits.
Cancellation stops future billing when it becomes effective under the applicable process. It does not reverse payments already processed or remove obligations already incurred.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit a right, responsibility or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Before you apply
Read these terms carefully before applying, subscribing or entering a participation-based programme. Questions should be raised before payment or enrolment so that the educational relationship begins with a clear understanding.
