How the 15 Minutes Math Program Works
Your child completes a short weekly test (open Monday 08:00 to Friday 20:00), focusing on key skills.
This keeps learning consistent and manageable — only 15 minutes per week, inspired by “Jimmy’s 1% Rule” - If you really want to excel at anything then spend 1% of your day on it...
Learners are assessed on current and past concepts, and can revise, fix mistakes, rewatch videos, or practice more questions with the Over-the-Shoulder Tutor.
The discipline begins with the weekly test.
How to Use the Test Reports inside Moodle
This is the report that will appear immediately after the test was submitted, already marked and graded!
It will show
- Which questions were answered correctly
- In which questions mistakes were made
- A direct link beneath each question is provided to the Question Report
How to Use and Interpret the Question Report
The Question Report is an individualized discussion of
- The Question Description
- Background Knowledge that was required or necessary
- Prompts or questions that can be used exactly, to feed into the Over-the-Shoulder Tutor, for remedial practice and understanding
- The Pedagogical Focus of this type of question
- The Didactics followed in this questions
- A direct link to a page in the Question Bank, where typical questions on this Topic may be found, These questions are images from past papers, correctly sized for upload into the OTS Tutor, and the learner simply has to ask whatever he wants to ask, i.e. "I don't understand this" or "What must I do here?" The learner is also encouraged to upload photos of his own attempts on paper and let the OTS Tutor mark and comment. Please note that the file size of these images must be below 1MB. The image may be cropped, or a website is given in the welcome message of the OTS Tutor chat screen, where the file size can be reduced.
- The Video Memorandums where videos related to the question topic can be found. These videos explain in detail, using voice and a whiteboard, what to do in the question, that is why we call it a "video memorandum".
For the etutor (Human Tutor Fallback), in other words to request a video if a suitable one cannot be found on these pages, please use the WhatsApp facility on the Support page.
Your Role as a Parent
You are not expected to teach the content — the Over-the-Shoulder Tutor and videos handle that. Your role is to:
- Encourage your child to write the weekly test.
- Talk about mistakes as learning opportunities.
- Help schedule short periods of revision (15 minutes each day).
- Celebrate progress, not just marks.
Your support builds confidence, but responsibility to take action rests with your child, it is an important life-lesson!
Responsibility Boundaries
Our system provides:
- Accurate results
- Benchmarking
- Detailed question-based reports
- Video explanations
- OTS Tutor guidance
- Weekly email reports to parents
...but we cannot enforce practice or discipline — that responsibility lies between the student, parents, and teachers.
